Uniform

The wearing of full school uniform is expected as an important part of the school ethos which  promotes positive attitudes, high standards and a sense of personal pride.

Students are expected to look neat, tidy and business like at all times.  We welcome parental support in ensuring that students adhere to this expectation.

Uniform:

Boys and girls wear the same uniform, except that girls may wear a skirt if they wish:

• Black school blazer with school logo
(This is compulsory for all students. Blazers should be clean and tidy and in good repair. All students are expected to wear their blazers as they come into school in the morning and throughout the day. Sweatshirts and / or hoodies are not allowed, they will be removed and placed in Pupil Reception until the end of the day).

• White shirt with long or short sleeves

• School tie

• Plain black school trousers
(Jeans/chinos/lycra trousers are not allowed)

• Plain black/white tights or socks

• Black waterproof footwear

(Shoes with coloured soles / stripes or white soles are not acceptable)

• Plain, dark coloured bag

• Plain outdoor coat or jacket

Girls who prefer to wear a plain black school skirt must ensure that it is a modest length, or the privilege may be withdrawn. The skirt may be worn with black or white ankle socks.

PE Kit:

Girls PE Kit

 

Black polo shirt, all black shorts, black socks and clean trainers which are not the same worn during the day for health and safety reasons. The other options are Black sports jog bottoms and a loose black sweat top, these are for additional warmth in winter.

 

Boys PE Kit

All Students

 

·         All students must be equipped with footwear suitable for sporting activity.

 

·         Fashion trainers / pumps are NOT suitable for PE / games.

 

·         All PE kit must be clearly named / marked.

 

·         Students will be expected to take personal responsibility for collecting items which have been left in the changing rooms.

 

·         Un-named / unmarked items will be put into lost property in Student Reception and retained until the end of the term.

 

·         Students excused from PE with a note MUST bring suitable kit to allow them to participate as officials / sports leaders.

 

Hairstyles:

Extreme hairstyles are not permitted, this will be at the schools discretion, if you would like any more
Information please contact the relevant member of the pastoral team.

The following is not permitted:

• A haircut shorter than ‘Number 2’

• Hair which has been dyed an extreme colour such as pink

• Styles where lines and / or shapes are cut into the hair

• Hair extensions

Male students must be clean-shaven, those with shaven totally or partially plucked eyebrows are not acceptable.

Hair should be clean, well brushed neat and of a natural colour.

Hair should not cover the face. Any hair accessories must be discreet either of black or white in colour.

Students who fail to follow the appearance regulations of the school will be referred to the Inclusion Panel.

Jewellery and make-up:

Female students are allowed to wear only one small plain gold or silver stud in the lower lobe of each ear.

Students are not allowed to wear any visible body piercings, other than those mentioned above – this includes nose studs, tongue studs or any facial piercing. A wristwatch may be worn; students are not allowed to wear any other jewellery including rings and/or bracelets. Or have any visible tattoos

Students wearing excessive make-up will be asked to remove it.

Religious observance:

Students whose religion requires them to cover their heads with a scarf or cap are permitted to do so, as long as it is in plain black or white and does not hide the face.

No other hats, caps or hoods are permitted in school.  This is a practical consideration, because we have CCTV on site.
